On behalf of Huntington Chapter #949, Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) I would
like to welcome you to our Website. I hope you find our website interesting,
informative and easy to navigate.
I would also like to encourage you to join the VVA (for Vietnam Combat and Vietnam
Era Veterans) or Associates of the Vietnam Veterans of America ((AVVA) for anyone
who cares about our veterans).
After you join, I hope you will attend our business meetings on the fourth Tuesday of
each month at 7:00 P.M. We have refreshments at 6:30 P.M. We meet at DAV
Chapter #2 located at 930 Seventh Avenue (across from the old railroad station) in
Huntington, W.Va. We try to make our meetings interesting and informative and have
a little fun at the same time.
In addition to socializing with those who have experienced some of the same things
you went through; the following are some of the programs and activities our Chapter
supports throughout the year:
v VA Hospital Volunteers
v Memorial Day Parade participant
v Veteran’s Day Parade participant
v Bingo for VA Hospital patients
v Pearl Harbor Day Ceremony
v Funeral Service for Vietnam Veterans
v Vietnam Veteran License Plates
v Many other activities
I hope you will be an active member and join with your fellow Vietnam veterans in
supporting the aforementioned activities.
